This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how cancellations, rescheduling, deposits, and refunds are handled for bookings and services on InkSesh.com. By using InkSesh, booking tattoo services, or listing a studio on the platform, you agree to this policy.

1. Role of InkSesh

InkSesh is a platform that connects customers with tattoo studios and artists.

Tattoo services are provided directly by independent studios and artists, not by InkSesh.

As a result:

  • Studios may maintain their own cancellation and refund policies
  • InkSesh does not control tattoo service outcomes
  • Service-related disputes must generally be resolved between the customer and the studio

2. Deposits and Booking Payments

Studios may require a deposit or advance payment to confirm a tattoo appointment.

Deposits are commonly used to:

  • reserve the artist's time
  • begin design preparation
  • reduce last-minute cancellations

Deposits may be:

  • non-refundable
  • partially refundable
  • adjustable toward the final tattoo session cost

The exact deposit rules are determined by the studio or artist.

3. Custom Tattoo Design Deposits

If a custom tattoo design has already been created or prepared for the appointment, the deposit may be non-refundable, even if the appointment is later cancelled.

This helps compensate artists for the time spent on design preparation.

4. Cancellation by Customers

If you need to cancel your appointment, you should notify the studio as early as possible.

Common studio practices include:

Early Cancellation

If cancellation occurs sufficiently before the appointment time, the studio may:

  • allow rescheduling, or
  • apply the deposit toward a future appointment.

Late Cancellation

If cancellation occurs close to the scheduled appointment time, the studio may:

  • retain the deposit, or
  • charge a cancellation fee.

Policies vary between studios.

5. Rescheduling

Many studios allow appointments to be rescheduled once or within a specific time window.

To reschedule:

  • contact the studio directly through the platform
  • follow the studio's rescheduling guidelines

Repeated rescheduling may result in loss of the deposit, depending on the studio's policy.

6. No-Shows

If a customer does not attend the appointment without prior notice:

  • the deposit may be forfeited
  • the studio may decline future bookings from the customer

7. Cancellation by Studios

Studios or artists may occasionally need to cancel or reschedule appointments due to:

  • illness
  • emergencies
  • scheduling conflicts
  • unforeseen circumstances

In such situations, the studio may offer:

  • rescheduling of the appointment, or
  • a refund of the deposit

8. Refund Processing

If a refund is approved by the studio:

  • it may be processed through the original payment method, or
  • issued directly by the studio

Refund timelines may depend on the payment provider used.

9. Payments Processed Through InkSesh

If payments are processed through the platform using payment providers such as:

  • Razorpay
  • Cashfree
  • PhonePe

refund timelines and processing may be subject to the policies of the payment provider.

10. Disputes Between Customers and Studios

If a dispute arises regarding cancellations or refunds, customers should first attempt to resolve the matter directly with the studio or artist.

InkSesh may assist with communication where possible but does not guarantee dispute resolution outcomes.

11. Studio Fees and Platform Charges

Studios may choose to participate in paid programs or services offered by InkSesh, including but not limited to:

  • studio listing services
  • premium visibility programs
  • the Trusted Program
  • platform commissions on bookings (when applicable)

12. Trusted Program Fees

If a studio enrolls in the Trusted Program or any paid program offered by InkSesh:

  • fees paid for such programs are generally non-refundable
  • program benefits may begin immediately upon activation

Refunds may only be issued at the sole discretion of InkSesh, such as in cases of billing errors.

13. Commission Fees

In the future, InkSesh may charge commissions or platform service fees on bookings made through the platform.

Where commissions apply:

  • commissions are considered platform service fees
  • such fees are generally non-refundable once a booking is confirmed

Specific commission terms will be communicated to studios before such fees are implemented.

14. Removal of Studio Listings

If a studio is removed from the platform due to:

  • violation of platform policies
  • fraudulent activity
  • misrepresentation of services
  • repeated complaints

any previously paid platform or program fees may not be refunded.

15. Policy Updates

This policy may be updated as the platform evolves.
